Considering UAE private schools - views of principals, owners/investors are welcome:

Enjoyed a productive discussion today with a lead inspector and a cohesive, supportive and effective board of governors. He asked the chair and governors pertinent questions in a diplomatic yet direct way and offered excellent advice. Sadly, in my experience with many private schools over the past 8 years there are two areas in which BOG's need to develop:

  1. Holding senior leaders to account for aspects of the SIP, SDP or student progress
  2. A healthy balance of support and involvement - respecting the authority of a school principal and SLT while providing challenge for greater progress

Completely agree. Very difficult to find the right balance out here.
