Schedule Optimization Meeting (SOM)

After having been organized in Paris-Orly for 21 years by COHOR on behalf of EUACA SOM2020 just took place last week in Toulouse airport for the first time.

The meeting gathered coordinators or schedules facilitators from The Netherlands, Denmark, Iceland, Greenland, The UK, Warsaw, Dublin, Spain, Norway, Sweden, Portugal, Italy, Belgium, Cyprus, Dubrovnik, Split, Zadar, Turkey, Morocco, Tunisia, Kiev, Krakow, Austria, Hungary, Germany, Greece, Czech Republic, Sofia and France.

75 different airlines mainly from Europe but also from the Middle East, North and South America and Asia Pacific attended the 2020 edition.

SOM became over the years an important milestone in the airport coordination process giving the opportunity to airline schedulers from all over the world to meet coordinators and finalize their slots issues with them just on time before the beginning of the Summer Scheduling Season.

Thanks to Toulouse airport a visit of the AEROSCOPIA aviation museum and a wonderful party sponsored by ATR, TOULOUSE Tourist office and Occitania Region Tourist Office were organized for all attendees of this year event. Many participants had a chance to discover the beauty of the ? Pink City ? and the regional culinary specialties. 

A survey will be shortly sent to all SOM20 delegates and depending on their feedback future SOM venue will be decided.
