Spring is in the air, and so is the Inclusion and Diversity agenda. While spring lasts a season, hazard a guess how long the I&D agenda would last? Controversial? meh...
I'm a cynic, because, for one we continue to cast the arrival of 'pay equality' several decades away... we continue to admire the legal rights of same sex couples (or the lack of) and we continue to peddle the diversity agenda, while right under our nose we are not grooming a more respectful future generation.
Think about it, wont you agree? Do not #diversity #equality #inclusion stem from #respect? And while we shine our shoes in the boards rooms over respect as a value - Are we really really grooming a respectful future generation? And how?
Some crying mishaps -
I've heard parents (yes recently) discuss how some of their women colleagues need to grow *****, (folks also condemn male colleagues for the lack of that part of male anatomy sometimes). I wonder when did, that part of male anatomy, become, the measure of human courage? (Of course I did ask them if as a corollary my two little girls are naturally disadvantaged. It was outrageous!)
Another incredulous bone of contention (I have) is with languages across the world. Looks like in most languages, the fairer sex seems to dominate the cuss word vocabulary! Wouldn't you rather have cuss word semantics reflect the board room composition? It would sound funny for sure if you know what I mean.
Now, that is me ranting about the unfortunate reality. The point is we continue to generously peddle the linguistic mistakes of past to our future generations.
If the point of a civilization's arrival is manifested in its language, then ouch! we are perfectly SCEWED! Sorry? what did you read?
To be continued...
