The Scary Truth About Business

Hearing last week that a small business in the same healthy, frozen meal industry as Be Fit Food has closed down, has really hit home for me.

I have no idea what happened that caused the closure of Five Point Four, but they have been around for over 5 years and they had an excellent reputation too. The truth is though, that no-one really knows what goes on behind the scenes and how difficult the day to day can actually be. Owning a business can be lonely place at times, as the stress can be overwhelming when you are not looking after yourself (good nutrition, healthy sleep habits, exercise and meditation) and these problems are often not something that you want to burden others with. 

What has helped me in the past though is the ability to be able to liaise with other like-minded business owners and to get the opportunity to be listened too and even more importantly is to have an experienced mentor who can offer their advice. Next month I am excited to say I am joining my first business networking group and I am looking forward to being immersed into a positive learning environment as everyone has unique experiences and there is something to be learnt from every single one of these.

I wish Ben Doolan all the best in finding his next big thing. Whether it’s Be Fit Food or not, we can all agree that any company that is determined to help Australian’s eat themselves better is a company we should be supporting.
