The scars of war

The scars of war

I'm currently working through the formatting for the upcoming memoir that Makin Books Publishing is putting out and I had to stop and tell someone about the truly amazing and at times heartbreaking story that is being told.

Never before have I actually read something that has made me want to stop and cry for the author.

The emotions that the author wields are so powerful. The situations are painted with such reality.

I felt my heart hurt for them.

They have decided to leave their name free from the project. Rather than it being another story focused around one soldier, a Private Ryan if you will, they wanted the story to be synonymous with any soldier.

Chronicling the life of a soldier at home and abroad, it truly illustrates to us that the tolls of war are felt on both fronts.

And yet, they are so humble as to leave this work of art unclaimed.

Let me be the first to say, thank you. Thank you for all that you do, all that you sacrifice, and all that you fight for.

I understand now that as a soldier you fight for a life that you rarely get to share the pleasure of.

“The soldier above all others prays for peace, for it is the soldier who must suffer and bear the deepest wounds and scars of war.”

~General Douglas MacArthur~
