Scandinavia in style on a Ponant cruise!

Last month, our Head of Product, Amanda Springer , and Head of Trade Sales, Mark J Harris , had the pleasure of sailing around Scandinavia on a PONANT Cruise.

Upon arrival at the cruise terminal, Amanda & Mark were welcomed on board Le Bellot in style with a glass of champagne. After checking into their Prestige Staterooms on Deck 5, they were able to tour the ship and its many on board facilities, which include a library, spa, and heated pool, ideal for down time during days at sea.

Both Amanda and Mark were impressed by the luxury features of their staterooms, which included complimentary 24-hour room service, a daily-replenished mini bar, a Nespresso coffee machine, and advanced technology like a Bose Bluetooth speaker and a flat-screen TV with numerous international channels. For those requiring more space, it was brought to their attention that the Prestige Staterooms could be connected to make a Prestige Suite, providing a separate living area with convertible sofa bed.

The pair were pleased with the variety of cuisines available during their cruise, featuring local specialties - such as Danish fish and Swedish sausages - and international delights including French-inspired dishes. During the day, they were able to enjoy afternoon tea and a wide selection of French wines, spirits, and beers in the main bar, observation lounge or Blue Eye Lounge, the unique underwater bar. No pre-bookings were required, ensuring an effortless dining experience in the main restaurant. Amanda and Mark were delighted with the two gala dinners they attended which consisted of a 7-course tasting menu - a perfect way to spend their evenings.

Time at sea was easily filled with the range of activities available on board, including daily lectures in the theatre to learn more about the destinations they visited, and opportunities to visit the bridge for time with the Captain to gain a better understanding of the ship and its navigation. In the evenings, you can return to the theatre to enjoy nights filled with entertainment, with excellent dance performances being the highlight.

Shore excursions were available for both Amanda and Mark during their cruise, with Amanda enjoying a walking tour of Karlskrona, Sweden, and a ‘Best of Bornholm’ tour during their time in Denmark. Each excursion was hosted by a local guide and accompanied by a Ponant team member, along with a Ponant photographer who captured videos and photographs that were available to purchase, providing a keepsake of their travels. Amanda & Mark were advised that Ponant will be offering one shore excursion per person, per port of call, included in the cruise fare by the beginning of the 2024/5 winter season.
