I want to share my horrible experiences (Microsoft Laptop Hack Scam, Website attacks, 50 calls a day from Scammers), as well as some of my Friends'! Please be careful who you trust! Never give out your personal info or call back numbers you don't know! Read about these true stories and please SHARE this, so more people are aware!
These Scammers are so much worse now than a few years ago with their old email letters that they used to send with "Dear Sir ... I am the Ambassador of ... you have money, but need your Bank account to transfer funds". They are getting sneakier, more charming and convincing! I have to share all that has happened to me and my friends. Now you can't even recognize the Scammers, because they use false pictures and steal other people's profile information and identities. Some now also speak English very well and have English, French or Australian Accents.

I got burned with "This is Microsoft! Call us immediately our system indicated you have a major Virus on your computer...!" I was having Computer problems and it was extremely slow. Since I already was signed up as a member of Microsoft, receiving automatic updates, I thought they really did get alerts from my computer.
Like the trusting person I was, I called and started following instructions. They said not to add Virus Protection at the time (but I already had it and thought that was strange) and to leave my computer "ON" so they could fix it. Then they asked for my password and even my SSN, and I immediately hung up! By then, I saw the cursor moving on my screen and they had already hacked my computer. I shut "OFF" my Laptop, but it was too late, it was fried and no longer worked (they got mad and did something to it). Thank God I shut it down, because they didn't get into any of my Bank or Investment accounts. I don't keep any passwords on my computer. Lost a cheap Notepad laptop, but learned a valuable and hard lesson.
Since then I have scammers calling me non stop with other scams, but I don't answer my phone unless I know the person. So they call me from all kinds of different numbers, and are even using my area code! The latest scam they even left me a threatening Voicemail saying that the Police is looking for me and if I don't want to get fined and go to prison I need to call immediately! Once I called back calling them scammers and that I have alerted the authorities, and shared their numbers, etc, but they just hang up and keep doing it. That is why I don't give out my phone number or email any more to ANYONE!
Now these scammers go on dating sites and pretend to be very attracted to a person, and soon after, talk about how they never felt that way, trying to make you fall for them. Eventually 3-5 weeks later they say they want to see you, but need ticket and MONEY! Or a friend calls saying they have been in a terrible car accident and need MONEY for the hospital! They have done this to my friends and one guy friend lost over $850, some more.
They also befriend you on Facebook, pretending to be your friend. Liking & commenting, and lot's of complimenting! They have broken so many hearts & stolen so much money playing on people's emotions, loneliness, unhappily married people, older women, people that look like they have money, and even right here on LinkedIn. Usually they say they are from Europe but went to school in US or work here, or vice versa, etc taken on identity of so called Widowers with kids, Executives, all kinds, including Military people traveling overseas. They write poetry, send you songs, romance you, but never want to video chat, and make you feel bad for not trusting them! They tell you everything you want to hear, and since many women crave ROMANCE or Attention, fall for it!
Understand that some of the older generation, just use their phone and don't get on the computer, so they don't hear about all that is going on. Many have also been scammed with so-called Retirement Investments, Social Security Fraud and Medical Insurance Scams, ripping our hardworking, innocent Elders off, that come from a more trusting generation.
These SCAMMERS are ruthless and do whatever it takes to get your MONEY! Please be careful whom you TRUST!!! THEY MUST BE STOPPED and put in JAIL!
Question, does anyone know how to stop these Scammers from calling you 50 times a day? Who can I contact to stop this? I have blocked hundreds of different numbers, even local numbers they used. I have called back demanding to be taken off their Scam list, telling them that I know what they are doing and that I have reported them to various departments. Nothing works, they won't stop! I tried ignoring them, but so tired of having my phone OFF, when my own family is trying to call and can't reach me, because the ringer is turned off and I don't want my phone to vibrate all day! I really don't want to have to change my phone number, because all my business contacts call me on it. HELP!!!???
UPDATE: I did a Google Search and found call 1-877-FTC-HELP or contact https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/ I will try them and let you know what happened in later today! Also found this info below to report Nigerian Scammers!
