“Lincolnshire is staring at an unparalleled chance to build upon its rich aerospace heritage. Our conversations at the event underpinned the significance, necessity, and urgency of Scampton's potential contributions to the the future of aerospace, technology and defence in this country. We remain open to conversations with the UK Home Office and the wider Government to ensure that the £300 million regeneration of former RAF base Scampton proceeds as per the will of the local Council ( West Lindsey District Council ), its communities and the wider population.”?
SHL was approved as a development partner by West Lindsey District Council and local planning authorities in March 2023 for the regeneration of the 800-acre historic site. The deal, which will secure over £300 million of investment into the former RAF station will preserve, protect and enhance the site by providing aviation heritage, business, aerospace, space and aviation technology and education opportunities.
At the heart of the proposal is the continued use of #Scampton as an operational airfield, which will assist in enabling investment across four key business areas: commercial activity, aerospace and aviation; heritage; hospitality and tourism; and education and research.
