Is it a Scam?

One of the quickest ways to determine if hiring a particular service provider for your business is a “scam” or not is to look at who they’re targeting.

If it’s “new” business owners, look at what they are promising you. At this stage, there will be a lot of trial and error because oftentimes there wasn’t enough market research, tested-out processes, etc.

If you do hire at this level, it should be a professional who can help you with sales or marketing (ideally). And being real, in customer service.

Even then, it would be project-based or even quick consultations because your goal right now is to get visible and make money.

So knowing this is a trial and error stage, and your goal is to make money, it’s easy to fall victim to those promising bloated numbers in their marketing to attract you.

What you need to be doing before starting a business or at least in the very beginning is to work on your design.

This looks like figuring out how much you need to thrive up to the number you want to be at in the next couple of years or so.

Then, it would help if you created different policies and processes that support this goal.

Businesses fail because they get stuck in this realm of trial and error, without ever really figuring out what they need, what their market wants, and ways to improve it.

Long story short, take the time out to design the way you want your business to look, get supporting processes to implement, and always test and improve them to see what you need to do next.

When you do this, you’re a lot less likely to fall victim to this bloated marketing tactic.
