Scaling your Leadership - 8 of 8

Rinse and Repeat

You did it! Congratulations on completing the first seven days of the Improving Leadership with Biblical Wisdom plan. You may be asking yourself, “If I did this, why am I not ready?” That’s a great question, and today’s lesson may be the most important of all.

Let’s call it Rinse and Repeat.

If you’ve been reading this plan daily, then you’ve absorbed six concepts and principles. The strange thing is that you haven’t had time to fully process all of these concepts or put them into practice. This can often be a significant challenge for all of us. We learn so many wonderful things, but all new learning and knowledge needs time to be absorbed and become new habits and routines that will actually produce the changes we desire.

What is the challenge in Rinse and Repeat? Right now, I want you to go back to one of the six days of this devotional, the one that you felt most resonated with you. Choose the topic that gave you a punch in the gut or that jaw-dropping moment. Choose one of these concepts to focus on next week. Read this devotional again.

Here’s what James Clear says about Continuous Improvement:

Let’s define Continuous Improvement. It’s a dedication to making small changes and improvements every day, with the expectation that the sum of those small improvements will add up to something significant.

A typical approach to self-improvement is to select large goals and then try to take big steps to achieve the goal in the shortest amount of time possible. While this may sound good in theory, it often ends in burnout, frustration, and failure. Instead, we invite you to focus on Continuous Improvement, the so-called “slow and steady” adjustment of your daily habits and behaviors.

Rinse and Repeat, and strive for Continuous Improvement, each and every day. Just think, if you achieve 1% improvement each day for a year, you will be 37 times better by the time the year is over.

Thank you for reading Improving Leadership with Biblical Wisdom.

I pray that it has benefited and enlightened you and that it will ultimately help you become a better leader.
