Issue 9 - Scaling Your Coaching Business

Welcome back!?

You’ve put in the hard work, built a solid foundation for your coaching business, and now you're ready to grow. But how do you take that next step without taking a wrong turn?

Scaling a business can be exciting but quite a challenge. You need to expand your reach and your impact, but do it in a way that’s sustainable and keeps the essence of what made your business successful in the first place.

Here are the best ways to scale your coaching business sustainably and effectively.

Hopefully, as you’re running your business, you might start feeling overwhelmed with all the tasks on your plate. This is a good sign your business is growing. But it’s also a sign that you need to start hiring extra hands.?

If you find yourself struggling to keep up with client appointments and follow-ups, it might be time to hire another coach. They can help you manage the workload and make sure each client gets the attention they deserve.

If admin tasks like scheduling, billing or marketing are eating up too much of your time, hiring an assistant or another employee can free you up to focus on coaching.?

I highly recommend hiring a virtual assistant. They can handle all your bookings, email communications, and even make sure all your socials are active so you’re constantly seen.

Building a team is a big, much-needed step in growing your business.

Another way to expand is by offering new services. If you’re mainly doing one-on-one coaching right now, why not try adding group coaching or peer advisory sessions?

It’s a great way for clients to learn from each other and get that sense of community.?They can learn from each other’s experiences, offer support and create a mini networking group.

Or, if you’re into creating content, you could put together an online course. You'll be able to reach a broader audience, including those who may not have the time or budget for one-on-one coaching.

An online course allows people to learn at their own pace. And the biggest advantage? Once you’ve created the course, it becomes a passive income stream with little effort on your part.

You can also host workshops on focused topics like goal-setting or time management. I’ve found workshops work really well in sparking interest in what you offer, and act as a gateway for people to explore your one-on-one coaching services down the line.

With a variety of services, you’ll attract more clients and create extra income streams, which is always a win!

Think about expanding into new markets or niches to reach more people. If you’ve been focusing on small business coaching, maybe it’s time to dip your toes into corporate coaching, helping bigger companies with leadership, team building or workplace culture.?

To get started in these new areas, you could offer freebies in exchange for video testimonials and reviews. This helps you build trust in a new market and gives you valuable content that can attract more clients.

Or, you could get super specific in your current niche. You could offer coaching just for startup founders or a particular industry, like tech or healthcare.?

Specialising in a particular industry can help you get a reputation as the go-to expert in that field.

Exploring new areas like these can differentiate your business and give it a big boost.

Picture what growth looks like for your business. Does it mean hiring more staff, expanding your services, or moving into new markets? Start building a plan that will help you take the next steps.

I’d love to hear your ideas or help out if you need it. This space is all about supporting you as you grow your business.?

Keep an eye out for the next edition, where I’ll talk about how you can measure how well your coaching business is doing.

The idea of expanding services to meet client needs is brilliant. Looking forward to more of your expertise!
