Lightsource bp
#WeAreLightsourcebp – our mission is to become a global leader in onshore renewables.?
Catch up on the biggest highlights from COP28 for Lightsource bp delegates, who took part in a series of discussions aimed at spurring the global energy transition. From advocating for more commitment to solar power, to engaging meaningfully to bring forward positive change, #COP28 has been full of insight and optimism...?
?? Global commitment: The draft outcome text of COP28 includes a commitment to triple renewable energy capacity globally by 2030, reflecting a shared optimism in solar's potential to combat climate change.?
?? Our team’s participation: Senior VP Alyssa Edwards , Managing Director for APAC Adam Pegg , Government Affairs Advisor Michelle Lezama , and Government Affairs Lead for UK Francis Mann , actively engaged in discussions this year at COP28, advocating for solar power as an essential part of the climate transition.?
?? People and nature: Michelle moderated a high-level roundtable debate with the UK’s Renewable Energy Association emphasised solar power's role in a people-first, nature-supportive energy transition. ?
?? Technology neutrality: Adam emphasised the need for technology neutrality at a UN side event, promoting the co-location of wind, solar, and battery technologies for a low-cost, reliable solution.?
?? Financing the future: Francis delved into climate finance, biodiversity net gain, and the intersection of solar power and storage. He highlighted the significance of inclusive leadership in climate, inspired by the event on women leaders chaired by Hilary Clinton.?
?? Community counts: Alyssa reflected on the intense yet hopeful atmosphere at COP28. Meaningful community engagement took center stage, emphasising the urgency of the energy transition and the commitment to overcoming challenges.?

Founder, Indoor Vertical Farming financed with Green Bonds
11 个月LGS 200, our launch of 200 Indoor Vertical Farms is moving forward. We are very excited about a strategic partnership we are forming. We are working with a Solar company to provide an integrated turnkey Solar/Indoor Vertical Farm. - Rapid deployment requiring minimum site preparation - Cost effective solution - Can be deployed everywhere - System will be robust - Great choice for high cost energy locations - Excellent solution when there is an unstable grid - Very suitable for island locations - Suitable for areas devastated by natural disaster The LGS SolGreen Farm is built inside a prefab building shell with a solar roof. The solar power is directly connected to growing systems. The integrated approach provides a 10-30% saving in power usage when compared to having a separate Solar system. Nerd warning explaining the savings: Solar generates at 24V DC. Growing equipment connects to the grid at 110v/220v AC but internally they run at 24v DC. Converting the solar 24v to 110v/220v costs 5% to 15% of the energy and is usually ignored as "it's the way it's done". Converting from the 100v/220v AC to 24v DC costs another 5%-15%. The integrated system removes the two conversions. Creating significant savings.
