Scales and Associates are delighted to announce a personal sponsorship deal with 3-times British Champion and current British Touring Car Championship title contender, Dan Cammish for the 2020 BTCC season.

We are joining a host of top brands who are benefiting from the media and TV coverage of circa 19.4Million UK TV viewers and 1Billion Global TV viewers.

Given the current situation with COVID-19, the season start date is currently postponed- However we have no doubts it will be up and running soon and with Dan tipped as a Championship favourite for 2020, we are confident that we will have plenty to celebrate come the end of the season.

Coincidentally Andrew Scales, Director of Scales and Associates and Dan did race against each other in Karting around 16years ago. It’s said all the top drivers start in karting before graduating, Andrew just didn’t tell us where he graduated...

In 2009 Dan made his Formula Ford debut at Oulton Park, qualifying 2nd overall, it was recorded as the first time a Novice had qualified on the front row of the grid since the famous Ayrton Senna.

Dan secured his first of three British championships in Formula Ford in 2013, during this season he won an unbelievable 24 out of 24 races he entered, securing the title with 2 rounds to spare.

In 2014 Dan moved to compete in the British GT Championship piloting a Porsche 911, after an impressive display he secured a drive to compete in the 2015 Porsche Carrera Cup championship, this was to be his second British Championship success as he dominated yet again to win 11 races.

In 2016 he competed again in the same championship and yet again his dominance showed as he recorded his third British Championship win. In 2017 he competed in the Le Mans Porsche Carrera Cup where he won and produced a masterclass display of overtaking.

In 2018 Dan was signed up by reigning British Touring Car Champions and factory Honda team, Halfords Yuasa Racing. After having never raced a front-wheel-drive car before, Dan got to grips and ended the season with back to back victories (and 1-2 for him and his team-mate; Matt Neal).

Heading into 2019, Dan was tipped as a title contender and he did not disappoint, after a difficult first few rounds of the championship, Dan produced a monumental effort to achieve 14 podium finishes in the remaining 23 races, elevating himself into championship contention by the last race of the season.

After finishing 1st and 3rd in rounds 28 and 29 (out of a 30-round season), Dan entered the final race with a small championship lead, but knowing what he needed to do to win his maiden BTCC championship title in only his 2nd season.

Whilst the team and fans experienced a euphoric atmosphere during an incredible comeback, unfortunately, the racing Gods were against him, as Dan encountered his first-ever mechanical failure in 2 seasons and sadly crashed out of the race, a lap and a half from the chequered flag and Championship victory.

Andrew commented:

“Having experienced motorsport, myself, albeit, at a much lower level, I have witnessed the commitment and sacrifices made by family, friends and the team over the course of a season.

Whilst the events of 2019 for Dan would make a good film, we know the story doesn’t end yet, this is why we are proud to support Dan in the pursuit of championship success during the 2020 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship season.”
