ScaleArc Gives Back on Rebuilding Day

This past Saturday, a group of ScaleArc employees rolled up our sleeves and joined forces with Rebuilding Silicon Valley to make a difference in the life of an 84-year-old homeowner in Milpitas, CA. As part of our ScaleArc Gives Back program, ScaleArc has adopted a 1-1-1 model for philanthropy, which means we donate:

• 1% of our time via volunteering days
• 1% of our product as software donations to non-profit organizations
• 1% of financial resources -- in our case, revenue

ABOUT REBUILDING DAY

Rebuilding Day is Rebuilding Silicon Valley’s bi-annual home repair blitz, pulling together hundreds of volunteers and dozens of sponsors to repair and rehabilitate nonprofit facilities and the homes of low-income homeowners. Over the course of just a few days during April and October, the Rebuilding Day program provides both major and minor repairs and renovations that result in life-changing improvements for the homeowners and organizations served. As houses are transformed, neighborhoods and communities find hope and pride restored. PAYING IT FORWARD

ScaleArc employees are passionate about helping others. In this case, we set out to help Esther. She was born in El Paso, TX and moved to San Jose when she was a child. She is the youngest of 12 children and is also a twin. She has just one sibling still living. Esther worked in accounting administration for most of her adult life and continues to volunteer at the young age of 84.

I had the privilege of enjoying a wonderful conversation with Esther, and she expressed her deepest gratitude for the help we provided in painting the entire exterior of her mobile home.
