To be or not to be - SC Cleared - that is the question?

What do people think about applying for jobs that have a requirement to be SC Cleared? If you don't have it, what is your experience when applying for these types of roles? If you've had it and it's expired, what experience have you had when applying for other jobs? Finally, if you have got it, what is your feeling towards the demand for people like you? Is it an advantage or do you feel it can go against you? I hope to see some comments soon.

My feeling is that having SC Clearance is a huge advantage, and the roles that demand clearance are more lucrative.
