Science Based Targets initiative
Enabling organizations to take swift climate action by setting ambitious emissions reduction targets.
JANUARY 2024
At COP28, the SBTi marked more than 4,000 businesses with validated science-based targets. This figure has doubled annually: from 2,000 last year and 1,000 the year before. To match the growing demand for credible corporate climate action, the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has released a set of new and improved resources to further increase efficiency and transparency. Target Validation Manager, Phoebe Holmes , outlines three key resources in our latest blog:?
Phoebe also provides a detailed recording on how to use the updated target submission form, which you can on our YouTube channel.

10 个月Weird that this newsletter doesn't cover the "Call for independent review – SBTi Target setting methods" RFP. https://sciencebasedtargets.org/resources/files/RFP-Methods-Review-scope-1.pdf Perhaps this is consistent with its terms: "The results of the study performed under this engagement will not be made public, but will be wholly owned by SBTi." So it makes sense that SBTi would keep this relatively hushed, lest it draws attention to the conflict between the scientific value of transparency being subverted by this intransparent process (recreating the exact same dynamic as the previous 2017-18 method review -- which has never been "made public" but remains "wholly owned by SBTi"...)
