Saying NO to God

Saying NO to God

I don't know about you but I always wonder if Elijah really finished his assignment on earth. This is because we find that at some point in his life, God instructed him to anoint three men in his stead. He was so beat by life and his soul kept falling into the deep of sorrow, fear and delusion because of the kind of people he was dealing with.

?

And recently, I've been thinking about Peter and his vision of unclean animals. If his position of religiosity got in the way of him accomplishing as much as Apostle Paul did.?

?

No doubt these two personalities did great works for God but just last week I learnt another lesson from their own journies.?

?

Never say NO to God.

?

Even when you don't understand what God is requiring, don't say no.

Even if men will think you are crazy, never say no.

Even if it doesn't look like something you can do successfully, don't say no.

Even if it doesn't fit your current capacities and abilities, never say no.

Even if it doesn't look ambitious enough, don't say no.

Even if it seems there will be no one to help you with it, never say no.

?

You might be afraid…Uncertainties might overwhelm you….but don't say no.

If you don't understand, ask for understanding.

?

If you have things you think are more serious needs than the assignment, like things that can distract you from doing the assignment…talk to God about it…don't say no.

?

If you have reservations about the details of the assignment, bring God to a conference table and ask Him questions.

?

Don't just assume something is too hard or impossible because it doesn't fit your cases and boxes.

?

Don't assume you can't do something that you have not even tried to do.

?

Don't assume you can't repeat an assignment because it failed before.

?

When you say no, it's like you are saying;

?

God does not know what He is doing - but He knows all things and nothing is hidden from HIM.

God made a mistake choosing you - and He never makes mistakes. You didn't choose Him, He chose you first.

God does not know you - meanwhile He knew you even before you were formed in your mother's womb.

God does not know your incapabilities - but His strength His made perfect in your weaknesses.

?

As you prepare for the new week, be reflective:

  • Think back on the many 'nos' you might have said in the past and ask God for His mercies
  • Examine your perspectives about God's love and your love towards Him.
  • Review your current instructions and ask for grace to run them according to God's pattern.

?

In the end, the goal is not just to do an assignment. It is to actually do ALL you've been designed to do and FINISH it.

?

Praying that we will not engage our assignments haphazardly but with the precision and power of the Spirit.
