Saying BS about Brazil

Saying BS about Brazil

It is easy to say a lot of Bad Source things about Brazil lately. Even Brazilians and mainly one of our former Presidents usually used to say bad things about us.

We have had many problems in several areas, starting with the Politics , Health, Economy, Corruption, etc, etc, etc.

But, as usual and as a standard, the international media loves to say bad things about our country.

On the other hand, we rarely say or spread bad things about other countries, unless about the Argentinean soccer, as far my memory goes behind some decades.

We never had fun or made cartoons or caricatures for sad things happened and still happening all over the word with other countries/people, mainly because the Brazilians have a high level of solidarity, relieving the pain and helping other people to find the way back to happiness, this is historical and watched after all world wars and other bloody combats in the history and also today, confirmed with the high immigration flow we had and still have.

We, as Brazilians and habitants of the third world, understand that nothing is perfect, that everything changes and mainly that: "shit happens", sorry for my bad wording...

Due to the current Brazilian situation and due to the worries about the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, we have watched a cascade of bad news and bad forecasts for the international event in our country, putting together worries about the lack of money, the danger of Zica virus and the problem with the mosquito, the pollution of the Guanabara bay and , the green color of the swimming and diving pools, and so many other problems.

But what nobody , in the " 1st word" counted was the Brazilian Spirit, or union, of self proud and , again, solidarity,  that made the Olympics Opening, a great and at the same time, a humble success.

And, to help you guys, our brothers all over the world (doesn′t matter in which world level you are) to understand and know a little better about our country, I humbly will try to show some important and key info about our poor country, that you may never thought we had or have, giving you weapons to fight against the dirty mouths and brains that insist in spreading only the bad things , rather than sharing the goods things they are or have, with us all,  actors of the same brotherhood.

. Brazilians –The best part about  this country is that our people is one of the best in the world ( humbly saying it), and in general you will find our people to be extremely friendly and welcoming to foreigners.

. Hospitality – Brazilians are by far some of the most hospitable people in the world. We will often do whatever is in our power to help you. And anytime someone has food and drink, we’ll ask you if you want some.

. Warmth – In Brazil, a friend of a friend is my friend. Five minutes are enough to be known for your entire life as an old friend.

. We Brazilians make a huge effort to speak in your language, and we do not have fun if you say some words in a wrong pronounce. We love to teach how to say: Obrigado ( thanks) or Bom dia  ( good morning)...

.Parties – We love to party, and not just Carnival. If somebody invites you to a churrasco or a birthday party, go! There’s tons of wonderful food, caipirinhas       ( our kind of Marguerita), dancing, and laughing. We know how to have a good time.

. Plastic surgery- In a country with several beaches and no inhibitions about showing the body, it's not surprising that "body shaping" is a preoccupation for most of the people -- and a very good way of making money, too.

Brazil passed the United States in 2014 as the top country for several cosmetic surgery operations, according to the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. The quality of surgeons is high and the prices lower than in the United States. The combination attracts medical tourists from around the world.

. We have The Christ Redeemer Statue in Rio de Janeiro, one of the 7 Wonders of the World.

. Brazil is 100 percent energy independent.

. Brazil has the 2nd highest number of airports in the world. Brazil has more than 4,000 airports – more than any other country other than the US.

. Even in this bad moment, Brazil's economy is the world's 7th-largest by GDP as of 2015.

. Brazil has been the largest producer of coffee for the last 150 years.

. 92% of all new sold cars in Brazil use ethanol as fuel, which is produced from sugar cane, and we have a dedicated gas/alcohol stations network distributing it all over the country, even on the most remote areas.

. Brazil is The biggest Japanese community outside of Japan

. Brazil is The biggest Italian community outside of Italy

. Brazil distributes women's breast milk around the country to babies whose mothers can't provide it for them.

. No other country  can supply food to the rest of the world as Brazil, due to the land, water source and appropriate areas for agriculture

. The best Cotton producers: Brazil produces average 1.429 kg/hectares of cotton, overlapping China (1.305 kg/hectares) and USA (918 kg/hectares).

. Our Soybean productivity is bigger than USA: Brazil 2.862 kg/hectares against USA 2.856kg/hectares.

. Brazil is the largest meat producer in the world. Brazil has the largest commercial herd of cattle ( 214 Million of heads) in the world.

. Brazil is also the world's largest exporter of orange juice.

. Brazil has the largest drinking water reservoir in the world.

. Brazil is the largest producer of beans in the world.

. Brazil has the largest population of dentists of the world. Brazil has 19% of the world population of dentists.

. For the 10th sequence year, Brazil is the largest aluminum cans recycle in the world, with 97,6% of recycling.

. Brazil is the 7th largest automotive market in the world

. Brazil is the largest Sugar Cane producer in the world

If all this remarkable positive things are not enough to cover the bad things you have hear so far about Brazil, at least you will have something in mind that we have also great things to be proud.

Finally saying, the next time you hear something bad about Brazil, don′t be shy... Say you know we are a great country with a great people, and that we deserve a little respect.

Being married to a Brazilian, I have been engulfed into the culture and lifestyle. As an American, I always felt Brazil get a bad wrap stemming from movies, social media and news. The things that people don't understand about Brazil is true Brazilian culture. The warmth of the people, the pride of the country and their food, the innovation and resiliency of the people. It is my life's goal/dream to retire to Maceio, drink caipirinha, and eat moqueca! Via Brasil!

?Cómo te va a tí?. Escribeme a mi correo de siempre o por facebook. Te mando miles de cari?os, bendiciones. Hasta pronto.
