They say you should never meet your heroes

They say you should never meet your heroes

Well, yesterday we chose to immerse ourselves in the workplace of one of our heroes.

He’s familiar to many.

And he’s fictional.

That’s right, we journeyed to Richmond, United Kingdom to walk in the footsteps of a modern day hero, Ted Lasso.

We ate and drank in his pub. And met a couple of locals who shared tidbits, or tedbits, as they’re known in Richmond.

We to ‘Believe’ posters.

We spent time in his laneway, bought coffee from ‘his’ café, sat on the bench in front of the phone boxes and spent the afternoon playing and relaxing on the Richmond green.

And we reflected on the amazing commercial impact one man (show) has had on a town.? The place was heaving with visitors from many countries.

We felt amongst friends in sharing our love for Ted and the many life and leadership lessons of Tedilosphy.?

Although we didn’t see Ted (I’d been half expecting to, such is the impact of Ted in our lives), we still felt the ‘Tedessence’ walking through his days.

One of Ted’s key lessons is ‘Believe’. Take control of your life.

Ted could have remained a soccer (football) coach forever but walked away on top-ish (second).?

I’ve found myself asking ‘what would Ted do’? at key decision points in my life over the past couple of years.? I know I’m not alone, what’s the Ted lesson you still carry with you today?

OMG - love this! I can't wait to visit. So many leadership lessons from Ted Lasso, I love it. My favourite being that as a leader it is ok to be vulnerable because we are all just human!

So many life lessons from Ted Lasso. ‘Be a goldfish’ is one that comes to mind; don’t let your mistakes define you. And just like Brene Brown also says ‘vulnerability is a strength not a weakness’
