Say Yes to Yourself

One of the outstanding stories in the bible is that of Israelites leaving Egypt after years of slavery and bondage. Just before the Israelites could cross River Jordan into the Promised Land, Moses dispatched a team of twelve spies to go and spy on the land of Canaan.
Although they went and saw the same place and things, they came with different reports. Ten of the spies came back with devastating news with only two holding bearable news. While the ten reported that they saw themselves as “as grasshoppers” in the eyes of the Canaanites, Caleb and Joshua saw otherwise; they believed the land was theirs to conquer.
The ten spies did what majority of us do today, they rejected themselves. Although none of the Canaanites called them grasshoppers, they saw themselves as grasshoppers and talked themselves out of taking their promise. In other words they said no to themselves.
Never say no to yourself. No matter who says not to your advances and turns down your proposals and your plans, never say no to yourself. Once you say no to yourself, you close all the possibilities of achieving what you were chasing after. You lock yourself out of your gifts and your potential to make exploits.
Always develop a habit of saying yes to yourself. Even when the whole world says no, every door closes on you, all your allies and friends turn their back on you and your critics multiply their voices, never say no to yourself.
Always say yes to yourself.
