Say YES to what really matters.

Say YES to what really matters.

She said “YES!”

It's easy to get caught up in the swirl of opportunities. As the go-to person, the one who makes things happen and leads with impact, there are endless chances to make a difference. You want to make a difference because you know what it's like to receive help, and you want to give back. You want others to have the same opportunities you've had, ensuring a better future for your family and community. So, you said yes.

But now you're tired. Too many meetings, too many discussions to lead, too many projects you have your hand in. They don't make you happy. You're there out of obligation, and the mere thought of them drains you. But you feel obligated to stay. Do you?

Your Time Belongs to You

Your time is super valuable. You should spend it doing things that make you happy. Let that sentence sink in. Yes, you can do what brings you joy. You can do the things that feel good to you. You don't need to do things just because you feel you “should” or “have to”. You have a wonderful gift called free will. You get to choose how to spend your time, and that means you can say yes to what matters to you and fills you with joy.

Do What Fulfills You

Fulfillment is a happy, contented feeling. It’s a key indicator that you are doing what your soul seeks. Historically, we have not made decisions based on fulfillment. We have been trained to do what is in the best interest of others, to overaccommodate, to demonstrate our love through sacrifice and martyrdom, often using Jesus as the model because of his sacrifice on the cross.

But look closely. Jesus' actions are rooted in joy, passion, and authentic love for people. What was the result? Supernatural energy and great fulfillment. When Jesus was tired he rested. When Jesus didn’t feel called to a certain area he said no. There was stress. There was pressure. Yet Jesus did not carry the weight at the cost of his well being.

How do you feel when you give yourself to numerous commitments? Are you lifted up? Do you feel energized? Because that really does matter. You can contribute and give in ways that make you feel good. You don't have to prove your love by sacrificing your happiness. Love should lift you up, not bring you down.

Your Well-Being Matters

You've been taught that showing love means sacrificing yourself, but that's not the whole truth. Sacrifice at the cost of your well-being is not love. It’s fear. The experience of love should create more freedom and expansion that allows for more peace, love, and joy. If you are in a constant state of overwhelm, if your health is compromised, if you have an underlying fear that you will lose something or not get something if you don’t participate, then that’s your cue to say no.

Love vs. Fear

Many of our decisions are rooted in fear. Fear of missing out, fear of letting others down, fear of not being enough. But love and fear cannot coexist. Love fuels you, energizes you, and lifts you up. Living from a place of love means making decisions that honor your well-being, your joy, and your peace. It means saying yes to what truly matters and no to what drains you. When you make decisions based on love, you create a life that is fulfilling and abundant.

Pay Attention to Your Feelings

When you live in a constant state of distraction, stress, and pressure, these are signs of misalignment. It's time to get back in touch with yourself.

Getting in touch with your higher self is crucial. Your higher self is the wisest part of you, guiding you toward what is best for your soul. When you are connected to your higher self, you make decisions based on love, not fear. You live from a place of inner peace and true joy.

If you are:

  • Constantly in back-to-back meetings, leaving no time for deep work or creative thinking.
  • Leading a team on a project that doesn't excite you, but you stay because you feel it's your duty.
  • Responding to emails late into the night, missing out on family time or personal relaxation.

It's time to get in touch with your higher self.

If you are:

  • Missing dinner with your family because you’re stuck on a call or finishing up work.
  • Too exhausted to play with your kids or spend quality time with your partner.
  • Thinking about work even during your personal time, making it hard to relax.

It's time to get in touch with your higher self.

If you are:

  • Involved in community projects that you no longer enjoy, but you feel guilty stepping down.
  • Volunteering for events out of obligation, not passion.
  • Filled with commitments that leave you no time for yourself.

It's time to get in touch with your higher self.

Your time and energy can easily be consumed by things that don't bring you joy. Joy is your birthright. You deserve to live in joy. It's important to recognize these signs and take steps to realign with what truly matters to you.

Choose What Matters

If you don't feel the rhythm of love in what you do, it's a clear sign you need to take another path. Love fuels you. Energizes you. Love lifts you up. Get centered. Ground yourself. Stay present. Say yes to what matters. YOU matter.

Remember, your well being matters. Periodt.
