Say something.

Say something.

There's a recommendation from Homeland Security that says, "If you see something, say something." Yesterday, we all saw something. Something terrible. Something that shook the foundation of our country and its Constitution to the core. Now it's time to step up and say something.

At FreeAssociates, we have a small voice. But it's one of millions who understand that what happened at the Capitol yesterday was utterly unacceptable and must be condemned loudly and without reservation.

I am a supporter of everyone's right to protest. Peacefully. It's an important way the people's voice can be heard. But this attack on our nation's heart and soul was disgraceful. And the idea that our president, sworn to protect our nation and uphold its Constitution, encouraged this sedition is appalling. He must be held accountable for his treasonous actions, along with the rioters who did his bidding.

It's time for every company, every organization, in the United States to step up and make its voice heard in outrage, in solidarity with the forces of democracy. This is no time to weasel because you have customers in the Trump Country, or are afraid to take a stand.

I hope and pray that there will be an outcry against this like nothing we have ever seen, and that we can pull away from this racist, nationalistic posturing and come together as a nation and as human beings to solve the larger problems that we face as a species and a planet.

Well said Josh. I’m going to share this, even though I typically refrain from political posts on LinkedIn. (Mainly because Trump brings out the unprofessional sweariness in me.) But what happened on Wednesday goes beyond bad politics. It’s a far cry from a group of people with different political beliefs. It was an attack on Democracy, and I feel that if I don’t publicly state, “This is not acceptable,” I will become complicit, right along with the domestic terrorists who trashed the Capitol Building.
