Say hello to Kanopi

In 2015, we founded Expense Check with the aim to help people and businesses make great decisions, based on data. Business owners are faced with complex decisions every day, and we knew we could help by making some of those decisions simple to make.

We built a platform that helped thousands of people understand their utility bills, make better decisions and save money, but we wanted to help even more. To find out how we could do that, we asked you, the customer, what expense you knew the least about that would have the biggest impact on your life or business if you got it wrong. The answer was unanimous:

Insurance.

Insurance was a big black box of mystery.

We listened and we started on a mission to fix an industry that is notoriously difficult to navigate and has been unchanged for decades. We quickly realised that it would take an enormous amount of time, attention and resources to solve this problem in a way that was truly transformative and that it should therefore be the sole thing we were thinking about every day.

Say hello to Kanopi.

We're here to make a difference by building a better world of insurance for everyone. Why? Because we believe that everyone has the right to pursue their dreams and live their everyday lives with confidence. We remove the worry and uncertainty from the world and get our customers the protection to 'do you'. To be brave and to take risks, knowing they have a company that is there to protect them every day.

For most people, insurance is a dirty word. A grudge purchase that seems designed to be confusing. But it shouldn't be; it should be simple, smart and human. We're taking a data-driven approach to help customers give the cover that's right for them, all from within the platforms they already know and love.

In doing so, we're transforming insurance and making it a positive force for good, that empowers people and businesses to pursue their dreams and thrive - at work and in everyday life.
