Say NO to boring Class
Not every class is created equal. You may find yourself in an uninteresting class at some point throughout your academic career. The aim will be to complete the course while maintaining a respectable grade. But how can you get through a tedious class? What works for one person may not work for another.
My students are amazing, caring individuals who are always eager to come to class.
Having fun oneself is one of the easiest and most efficient strategies to avoid boredom. If you're having a good time, your students are probably having a good time as well.
Experiment with new things as a group: When students and teachers learn new things together, it is far more enjoyable for both sides. Of course, it is our responsibility to teach, but why can't that process also involve the joy of shared discovery? Make it a point to let down your authoritative guard each day, humble yourself, and enjoy the long ride together–even if it's only for a few minutes.
Include a sense of mystery in your lessons: When learning is unexpected, it is the most enjoyable. Instead than just disseminating knowledge, shroud it in mystery. Emphasize the unusual, unique,?and?Pose inquiries. Begin with a fascinating detail that can only be addressed by delving into the subject's past and thoroughly exploring it. Create a mystery at the start of class and have your students work on solving it throughout the class.
Try to be patient and even show interest in the various classes that students are studying. Consider it a chance to improve students' understanding of your topic by connecting it to other fields.
