Savoring Summer's End and Embracing the Moments that Matter

As the days begin to shorten and the familiar crispness hints at autumn's approach, I find myself reflecting on a summer that was truly one for the books. It was a season filled with travel, family, and countless moments of joy that have left a lasting imprint on my heart and deep into my soul.

A Season of Family and Exploration

This summer, my family and I wholeheartedly embraced the spirit of adventure! Together, we wandered the vibrant streets of Paris, delighting in an array of croissants and French cuisine. It was an exhilarating Daddy & Daughter weekend in New York City, where we soaked in the bustling energy along with the sights and sounds. Then came our epic road trip from Denver to San Francisco to visit relatives and enjoy the spectacular fireworks over Pier 39. I've already been prompted to start planning our next summer's annual road trip. Each journey was more than a tour of places; it was an opportunity to deepen our connections.

At home, our mornings were slow and sweet, filled with experimental brunches—from crafting the perfect French toast to mastering the art of crispy bacon. These quiet moments allowed us to savor the simplicity of being together, with the laughter of movie nights echoing into leisurely mornings.

Living with Intentionality

It's easy to speak about priorities, but another to live them with intentionality.

This period of intense family time has been a profound reminder of what truly matters. It's easy to speak about priorities, but another to live them with intentionality. This summer has allowed me to align my actions with my values more clearly than ever before, particularly in my roles as a father, spouse, son, brother, uncle, and friend.

They say that the one with the most toys wins, but I believe that the one with the richest memories does. This summer has been about creating those memories—ones that will outlast any material possession.

Culture and Leadership Start at Home

While I often speak about organizational culture, leadership, and trust in professional settings, these elements are just as crucial at home. This summer’s reflections deepened my appreciation for the time and commitment necessary to foster the right culture of leadership and trust with my family. Establishing a strong foundation at home enables us to show up as the best versions of ourselves in the workplace.
