Savor The Good Times On The Job
Lesson #3: Enjoy Being a Director
February 12, 2018 / Diane Dahlmann
Enjoy being a director. It’s fun. Not every day is fun perhaps, but it is good to be queen or king, for that matter.
Make a note of the good days and the happy moments. These are the highlights of your work, your career, and your people. Savor them.
Pay attention to what makes for a good day.
Pay attention to who contributes to a good day.
Pay attention to the conditions and factors that always seem to be present when a day goes well.
Be mindful of the details and factors that contribute to your happiest times and best work. Tracking your best and happiest periods of times on the job will help you create your own customized guide to working with positive efficiency. This kind of a guide creates a journal of your professional success and the contributing factors. What a great thing to have when a day doesn’t go so well or when you find yourself in a slump!
When you enjoy your work you’re enjoying life. If you love what you do and where you do it and those who join you on your daily professional journey; you will never really work a day in your life. Now that is fun!
