Saving Time With Your Marketing Is Hurting Your Brand
Hello there fellow Founder!
Let's talk about a topic which I've gotten questioned on more and more frequently:
"Can't I just copy my post from here and put it there, it's the same thing..."
If this is all you came to see, the brutal, short answer is - No.
Now if you want to not only learn why but also how to fix it without you having to find a 25th hour of the day, then keep reading!
A quick PSA here for everyone before the article:
I will continue to post articles through this newsletter on LinkedIn once to twice a week, however as it's September my personal strategy dictates that it's time to move onto my website ??
So, what does this mean? It means I will be launching my online newsletter as well which will cover topics relevant specifically to founders with technical explanations and actionable steps, free, downloadable PDF checklists, prompts, and other goodies!
My goal is to set a clear distinction - Marketing Done Right here on LinkedIn is for Founders, but also a bunch of Marketers follow it too. Through lenardadanov.com I will be discussing everything from Fundraising, Marketing strategies, Sales Strategies, Talent Management, Exit Strategies, etc. It'll be "Entrepreneurship Done Right". I am also going to be focusing a lot more on my other social media accounts too. My Instagram and my TikTok . As you may notice - I will not be removing the old content anytime soon - the goal is to show progress and you expect new videos and posts out in the coming days!
How is me optimizing my processes hurting my brand?
In the fast-paced world of business, efficiency is paramount. However, when it comes to marketing, cutting corners can have detrimental consequences for your brand. While the allure of saving time is undeniable, it's crucial to distinguish between strategic efficiency and shortcuts that can dilute your brand's value.
The Perils of Copying Content
One common shortcut in marketing is copying content from other sources. While it might seem like a quick fix, this practice can severely damage your brand's reputation. Search engines penalize duplicate content, leading to lower rankings and reduced visibility. Moreover, copying content demonstrates a lack of originality and expertise, which can alienate your audience.
Truth is, there's optimization and then there's just being lazy. The number 1 issue with "saving time" is that people create a single piece of content and because they've heard that it's good to "repurpose" it for other social media profiles of their brand they just copy paste it everywhere.
The problem? Social Media Platforms talk to each other.
They can basically see where this content was posted first.
They can also understand what's in a video.
If your content is say made on TikTok it gets that little tag in the corner if you download it which says TikTok and has your @ below that too. If you try putting this on a second platform like Instagram (like I used to do ) then you won't be seeing that content do much for you. That doesn't mean if you copy-paste content like this 3 times that the next time you post original content you'll get some incredible result instead. You'll most likely hurt your entire profile.

The Impact of Generic Content
AI tools can generate content quickly, but they often lack the nuance and originality that human-written content possesses. Generic, AI-generated content can make your brand appear bland and unmemorable. Search engines also prioritize content that is informative, engaging, and demonstrates expertise.
The Importance of Strategic Efficiency
While shortcuts might seem tempting, true efficiency lies in optimizing your marketing processes. Here are some strategies to consider:
Remember, saving time should not come at the expense of quality.
By optimizing your processes and leveraging technology strategically, you can achieve efficiency without compromising your brand's integrity.
In Conclusion
While the temptation to cut corners in marketing can be strong, it's essential to prioritize quality and originality. By focusing on strategic efficiency and leveraging the right tools, you can save time without sacrificing your brand's reputation. Remember, true efficiency is about maximizing results, not simply minimizing effort.
