All continent's coastlines include plastic, with additional plastic debris being discovered close to famous tourist spots and densely populated places.

It endangers the health of the ocean, the well-being of marine creatures, the safety, and quality of food, coastal tourism, and human health, in addition to accelerating climate change.

Governments, businesses, and consumers are among the many stakeholders who are altering plastic consumption patterns, reworking conventional production processes to create less plastic trash, recycling plastic debris, and creating items that are simple to process after use.

Advanced Plastic Recycling Technologies Are Developing Rapidly

By assisting in the preservation of more plastics from the environment and putting them to useful use, improved plastic recycling technologies have greatly increased the market for used plastics. The plastics business is continually changing and developing fresh, original concepts for recycled plastics.

According to research released in September 2020 by AMI International, 5 to 15 million more tons of plastic garbage might be processed yearly by advanced recycling methods by 2030.

A biodegradable material that can break down in a compost bin in two years was also developed by experts at Kaunas University of Technology in Lithuania. This material can be used for a variety of things, such as single-use packaging for items and as an alternative to plastic storage and shopping bags.

Why Can Not 100% Recycled Plastic Be Used to Make All Plastic Packaging?

Because we don't recycle all the plastic packaging we use, there simply isn't sufficient recycled content material to make up for the amount of plastic packaging generated.
