Save the Planet - Bring Your Technology To Asia
BP released its forecast of what they predict energy use will be in 2035. And there's not much good news in there for the environment, with energy consumption projected to increase 37% from 2013 levels, driven by growth in China and India. That works out at 25% more CO emissions than now, so hold off buying that waterfront property.
So how do we prevent the catastrophe? BP sees a switch in energy flows from West to East, as efficiencies in Europe and the US, plus slower growth, mean their energy use reduces, while faster growth in Asia increases their consumption. So what we need is to bring some of those technologies and efficiencies from the West to China and India, to reduce the impact of their increased energy use.

10 年Still waiting for the "WHITE KNIGHT", to really demonstrate the, "NEW GENERATION HYDRO". But demand for the need should be available. Much have been said, only action awaits. Regards.
Renewable Energy
10 年Simon, a few things to consider. Numbers vary all over the map for present energy provided by RE including electricity and transportation. IEA reports 13.2% with 19% related to Grid Electricity and 3% related to transportation. Unfortunately any of these analysis are already dated by the time they are finished. 2014 reports 2013 data for example. Solar and wind install quickly and a lot of the commercial and residential installs do not get reported worldwide. Electric motorcycle and trike markets are growing quickly in SE Asia which is a major factor in transportation shift.
