SAVE ME
The Conduit
A home for a diverse community to connect, grow, and make a positive impact.
Join us for an exclusive screening of "Save Me", a short film from Amani Simpson, award-winning youth coach and star of the acclaimed “AMANI”, on Thursday, 25 January at 6pm.
The plot follows Fiona (15) and Dean (13), who are connected through trauma. Fiona finds herself in an abusive home, while Dean deals with the realities of grief. The film depicts their cab ride in search of freedom, and the impact of trauma on their lives. The film features YouTuber and TikToker A Smxlls, and rapper Litty Lights. It sensitively works to raise awareness about the experiences of young people dealing with trauma and highlights the importance of providing support and understanding. "Save Me” is already receiving well-deserved acclaim, and is being used as a tool for training across the country, including by Barnardos and The Children’s Society.
After the film, we will be joined by Amani and London creative Amelia Poamz to discuss the film’s creation, exploring the importance of the arts for drawing attention to the issues faced by young people in our society.
