New cinema and contemporary art
The Rencontres Internationales invites you to discover their new programme, with free admission, from 2 to 8 May 2022 at the Beaux-Arts de Paris, Louvre auditorium, Centre Pompidou, Maison Européenne de la Photographie, Galerie rue Fran?aise, the Centre Wallonie-Bruxelles and Goethe Institut.
Dedicated to contemporary practices of the moving image, the 2022 edition offers a rare opening onto contemporary audiovisual creation. 90% of the programme will be French, European and international premieres: themed screenings, cartes blanches, exhibitions, VR programme, forums and panel discussions. In the presence of artists and directors from all over the world, the event offers an exceptional programme, bringing together 118 works from 39 countries, with internationally renowned artists alongside young artists presented for the first time.
The programme, which will be announced soon, will offer many unique events. These include a retrospective devoted to Apichatpong Weerasethakul (Thailand), an exceptional carte blanche for Dara Birnbaum (USA), a special session with Ariane Loze (Belgium), a new installation by the Zapruder collective (Italy), as well as recent or unpublished works by Rosa Barba (Italy), George Drivas (Greece), Dora García (Spain), Tamar Guimar?es (Brazil), Cécile Hartmann (France), Salomé Lamas (Portugal), Natacha Nisic (France), Leighton Pierce (USA), Laure Prouvost (France), Rajee Samarasinghe (Sri Lanka).
Among the highlights

Moving Image Art Prize
For the first time, an international jury will award a prize and an endowment to one of the works in the programme. The Moving Image International Art Prize will be awarded to a unique work in the field of moving images. A selection committee has chosen 14 outstanding works from the submissions received to be submitted to the jury. The Moving Image Art Prize will be awarded at the end of the event.
