As we transition into the New Year, the festive season has been a time of feasts, parties, and enjoyment for many. From Christmas to New Year's, most of us indulged in celebrations, holidaying, or working from home, leaving many IT parks and offices nearly deserted. However, amidst our joy and relaxation, an important reality often goes unnoticed—the struggles of street animals, particularly dogs, who rely on the activity in these areas for their basic sustenance.
This is a heartwarming anecdote, and it beautifully illustrates the simple yet profound impact of kindness. Here's a refined version:
Why am I sharing this? Because a small, unexpected moment during the New Year celebrations touched my heart deeply.
Due to the New Year holiday, our office's main entrance was closed, so my cab took a different route and dropped me on the other side of the office building. As I walked toward my office, I noticed a brown Indian-breed street dog lying near the free bike stand. Its eyes gazed at the sky with a hungry, almost prayerful look, as if pleading with the Universe to fill its empty stomach.
Fortunately, I had a packet of biscuits with me. I called the dog over and offered it the biscuits. What happened next was truly moving. The gratitude and joy in its eyes were indescribable. It wagged its tail energetically, circled around me, as if trying to sense my soul, and then happily devoured the biscuits.
That simple gesture and the dog's response filled my heart with warmth and reminded me of the pure, unspoken connection between humans and animals.
We never meet anyone or encounter situations by mere chance—there’s always a connection, be it good or bad. The undivided faith and trust the dog placed in the Universe created a pathway for its need to be fulfilled. Its silent prayer for food reached the divine, and through a chain of seemingly coincidental events, I became the instrument to answer that prayer.
This is the essence of connecting to the Universe or Divine energy. Like the dog, we must place our unwavering trust in the higher power. Be unbothered by doubts, hold onto faith, and let the Divine take charge. When we align ourselves with this energy, life’s puzzles naturally unfold in the most miraculous ways.
Sometimes, small changes in our daily approach can create a significant impact. Carrying a simple Rs.10/- or Rs.20/- packet of biscuits can bring joy and relief to a hungry street animal. We have to accept the fact that these street animals are not working like us or getting salary or they cannot bake the bread. It’s a small gesture, but it holds immense value for these pure souls.
If someone cannot afford to offer such a bare minimum, the least they can do is avoid harming these innocent beings. Remember, these animals are loved and prayed by many compassionate individuals who send healing thoughts and blessings to them every night. Those who inflict harm on them risk inviting negative consequences into their own lives.

Developing a compassionate attitude toward street animals is not just an act of kindness but a responsibility we all share. They depend on us to coexist peacefully, and by extending care and empathy, we contribute to a better world.
As we reflect on our role as stewards of this planet, let us remember: “Save Animals, Save the Earth.”
