'Planning a Birthday Party'

Do you find planning a birthday party intimidating?

It doesn’t have to be. It can be less stressful if you break up the planning into parts.

First of all, start planning your party a least a month in advanced (the earlier the better). Choose the date and time of your party first. Take into consideration holiday and events (like graduation) when choosing a date.

There could be lower guest attendance if people are out of town for summer vacation or another holiday. The start time of your party should depend on what food you are serving or not. If you want to serve lunch start your party around 12 p.m.

Start a party around 5 p.m. if you are serving dinner. If you don’t want to serve food have your party around 7 p.m. Also think about how long you want your party to be (two hours, four hours or a sleepover).
