Let’s have a chat about something that’s close to my heart, and probably yours too taking care of ourselves in the whirlwind of business life.
Ever seen a sausage dog?
They’re adorable, right? But here’s the thing, even as cute as they are, their little backs can break if they're pushed too hard. We recently discovered this isn't actctually that hard for them to do! Thankfully we had insurance!
It’s a lot like us as business owners, we can put so much weight on ourselves that eventually, something’s got to give.
I know you’re dedicated to your clients. You’re driven to go above and beyond, putting every ounce of effort into meeting their needs. But here's the harsh reality. Even when you’re burning the midnight oil, a client can suddenly decide to take their business elsewhere.
Does that mean we should not work hard? Absolutely not. Hard work is valuable, but going to extremes can do more harm than good.
Consider this....
Your health and well-being aren't expendable resources. They’re the bedrock of your ability to serve your clients efficiently and sustainably. If you’re constantly on the go without taking a breather, you're heading for burnout faster than you think.
So, what can you do? Here are a few thoughts:
1. ?????? ????????????????????: Clearly define your work hours and stick to them as much as possible. It's okay to say no.
2. ????????????????s?? ????????-????????: Find something that helps you recharge—a walk, reading, or even just sitting quietly for a few minutes. Make this a non-negotiable part of your day.
3. ????????????????: Share the load. Think about getting other people to do some of the work. There are more ways to do this than you think! For me in 2025 it is about helping upskill new people through our club and then finding them work!
Join us in 2025 and find A Better Way Of Life
4. ???????????????? ?????? ????????????: Regularly assess your business commitments and decide if they align with your mental and physical health goals. Is there something you could change to make your workload manageable?
Remember, taking time for yourself isn’t selfish. It’s about sustaining your ability to keep doing what you love. Protect your back, just like those adorable sausage dogs.
No one else will prioritise your well-being as you can. The time and energy you invest in yourself directly impact your business's success. Taking breaks doesn’t mean you care any less. Quite the opposite—you're ensuring you're at your best for your clients.
Take care and be kind to yourself.

I'm hoping that more people will realise this before they learn the same way.
