Under the wording by Prince Bandara, Maximum Security (3mo Aqu) and Mucho Gusto(1moSA) both would be disqualified as both received lasix within 6 months of the Saudi Cup. Midnight Bisou would retain her second place finish and now the winning position as she did not run on lasix since August (sar7mo). However Mike Smith lost his % of the purse on Midnight Bisou due to overuse of the whip. Lasix is a performance enhancing drug. The question is: was the 6 month stipulation in place as conditions of the race before this announcement? Did any other runners in the race receive lasix for a workout or other diagnosis within the 6 month period. Vet's records could reveal that data.
