I wholeheartedly agree that Saudi Arabia is a prime destination for startups, thanks to the incredible support from the government and related entities. As one of the beneficiaries of this transformation and support, I can personally attest to the opportunities that have opened up. However, I hope that there will be a renewed focus on solo entrepreneurs as well. These individuals often possess remarkable abilities and can wear multiple hats efficiently. Yet, the lack of proficiency in one or two areas can lead to significant struggles. Globally, solo entrepreneurs make up a significant portion of the entrepreneurial ecosystem. For instance, in the United States, about 81% of small businesses are run by solo entrepreneurs. Despite their potential, many face challenges in accessing accelerators or securing investor backing due to the high demands and expectations placed on them. In Saudi Arabia, providing tailored support for solo entrepreneurs could prevent the loss of incredible talent and innovation. Initiatives that offer mentorship, financial aid, and resources specifically for solo entrepreneurs could make a substantial difference, helping them thrive rather than struggle in isolation.
