We've worked together for many years but maintained separate identities. Now the Sauber group of companies have merged the divisions that look after non-F1 race team activities. Makes complete sense to have one umbrella for all of these services. Those of you who know me know about our aerodynamics expertise. Have a look at a summary of the services we provide focussing mainly on the non aero sides of our business. If you need a partner for R&D or advanced technologies, let us know.
This is an older roll over protection bar, and the new ones are also manufactured additively (in this case we use an aircraft grade of structural aluminium). So far we have found this to be the lightest way to create a reliable protective structure that takes the 12 ton compound angle load imposed by the regulation - and it can take that load multiple times. It also has the advantage that increased loads result in controlled deformation. It is less likely to shatter for example than a carbon part.
