Satya and the complex question

In recent weeks, with all the hype surrounding A.I., I’ve been asked many times if Radar4.ai is generative A.I. My simple answer is no. In fact, we are purposefully not generative A.I. Our differentiator is that we believe people are the key to solving complex problems and will be for the foreseeable future.?

This may seem odd coming from someone running an A.I. company, but in reality like all flavors of A.I. that are proliferating rapidly around the world with myriad applications and uses, generative platforms such as ChatGPT help people be more efficient, but they don’t replace them.?

I like to think of it as similar to using a GPS navigation system when you’re driving. Just like GPS helps you find the quickest route to your destination, AI helps you find the most efficient way to solve a problem or complete a task. It analyzes data, identifies patterns, and makes suggestions, similar to how a GPS can suggest the best route based on traffic and road conditions. A.I. can also help you avoid potential roadblocks, and help you identify and mitigate potential issues before they occur. And as GPS saves you time and effort by guiding you to your destination, A.I. saves you time and effort by helping you make more informed decisions and streamlining your processes.

When Satya is solving a complex problem he needs insight, extrapolated from a personal experience to a non-experience. As a human being, he can say he’s experienced many things, from sailing to eating an orange. A.I. can’t.

ChatGPT simply creates a logical recombination of known information. There is no insight. When Satya is solving a complex problem he needs insight, extrapolated from a personal experience to a non-experience. As a human being, he can say he’s experienced many things, from sailing to eating an orange. A.I. can’t. His mind draws parallels between disparate things and makes analogies and hypotheses about something based on a completely different experience he has had. There isn’t AI that produces insights… yet. Not through the recombination of “this plus this plus this”, going beyond the mathematical equation and known datasets, to provide true intelligence.

Within the large company, he works at, the dissonance of noise wastes time and slows down Satya’s efforts to get to the answer he needs. There’s a lot of chatter, politics and posturing, and relationship building, but he doesn't have time to elbow his way through all of that. He’d have to wade through a lot of conversations to get to the answer, whether in person, by email, or (shudder) crowdsourcing his question on Slack or Teams.?

In addition, most internal knowledge management tools don’t have the ability to sort through all that data with a fine-toothed comb to get what Satya needs. They serve up as many answers as Google. To slog through all of that is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Frustrating at the least, and a waste of his precious time.?

Inherently, people’s interactions are messy. Always have been, and always will be. This is where A.I. can help. Radar4.ai removes the mess and pinpoints the person with the answer. And while some employees may struggle to ask the right question to get the answer they need, A.I. can prompt them through gamification to improve their questions. For instance, “Find that conversation I had with Bill”… doesn’t give enough details. “Find that conversation about node JS I had with Bill” narrows it down, and “Find the conversation about the backend about node JS where I was fixing a security bug with Bill” gives more context and more accuracy. Radar4.ai can then analyze and understand the context of the question, putting the employee in touch with the right internal expert. It all comes back to people.?

In conclusion (to borrow a phrase from ChatGPT), the noise of an organization can waste time and effort, but with the help of A.I., we can get to the answer quickly and efficiently. And as we continue to push the boundaries of what's possible with A.I., we'll be able to improve our lives and make the world a better place for all of us.

About Radar4.ai?

We believe people are the key to solving complex problems.

With pinpoint accuracy, Radar connects you with the right expert right now to answer complex internal questions, because complex problems don’t get solved with chatbot answers or crowdsourced chaos.?

Radar creates intelligent connections through a combination of computational linguistics, A.I. models, and human intelligence, increasing productivity, and accelerating operational velocity, by reducing interruptions from those Slack attacks and email blasts. And, when a question has been asked more than once, Radar serves up the most recent relevant expert answer, getting rid of fruitless searches for information.?

Radar’s Dynamic Brain learns from every interaction, ingesting conversational data, and gets smarter every day.?
