Saturday Out Takes
As anyone that has ever worked with me knows... I am very passionate about industrial imagery. I love the colours, the lines, the motion... pretty much the whole package! But in reality I just love shooting. (I also love editing, producing... ok I love it all!)
I always maximize my opportunities to get new images of some of my oldest subjects. Having shot on the North Coast for 20+ years there is pretty much nothing I haven't shot at least once. Sometimes twice or twenty times. It never gets old. Same subject new perspective. Here are a few shots of some of my favourite things, that I took on the way back to the helicopter base last Saturday after shooting the roll off of the new gantry cranes at DP World Prince Rupert.
No ferry at the dock but still very cool light over Graham Ave.
I have had the opportunity to shoot the Aqua train a number of times. I find it a fascinating subject in all lights, even at night :-)
I love the light on the water. It is always a pleasure to shoot the Justine Foss. It is a beautiful vessel with very nice lines from all angles.
Westview wood pellet plant which is owned by Pinnacle Renewable Energy Inc I have been shooting this dock before it was a Pellet plant so it is nice to see it being used to it's full potential.
Cow Bay, I don't even want think of how many images I have shot of this area in town over the past 20 years. I have seen it change from a small little collection of colour to a bright busy collection of colour!
Mclean Shipyard and Seal cove from the Air. This is my little piece of heaven. I love to hang out here. IT is an amazing place that feels like the farm to me. Just regular people making a living doing what they like to do. Simple, quiet and beautiful. (Also a great place to shoot even in terrible weather!)
Seal Cove is an amazing place that seems quiet but is really always busy. A great place to hang out, walk the dog and of course shoot!
As my 11 year old daughter Kasia says, "Mom is kid friendly, dog friendly, and colour friendly. "
Because we had such a nice calm day I took my little friend Hazel for her first helicopter ride (and her Dad). Hazel flies all over the North Coast because her grandpa Ken and (Dad) Mike Cote own the seaplane business Ocean Pacific Air. I have had the pleasure to fly with both Ken and Mike a lot over the last 20+ years. Both are first class pilots. So it was pretty cool to have the opportunity to take the next generation on her first helicopter ride.
