There are two ways to be rich in life: One is to have all you want in life, The other is to be satisfied with what you have in life. Like a handsome intelligent dude, graduated from IIT, Delhi some years back and is working with, The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and has already got his acceptance from Yale University. He was a topper all his life. Cracked IIT with a double-digit rank, scored 780 in GMAT and was an Institute scholar at IIT.
Earning close to 7 figures salary, a well-maintained body, a luxury car to drive, expensive hookers to have sex with, fulfilling every dream and suit, he sees around. What are your views, guys? We everyone here want this kind of life, right? Obviously, we do. We thrive for such a life. We live for such a life.
Once, I went to have drinks with him and after gulping sufficient amounts of alcohol into the body, he was sad. I asked him, what happened? On asking, he started crying and expressed his private life. He added:Listen, I have everything. Literally everything. I can buy what I want. I can have what I wish to. I am a guy which everyone will desire for.But you know, what is wrong with my life?I thrive for people. I have no one to see my success.
I was always being a self-centred guy from my childhood and this is the reason, why I had everything but in this race, I lost to people. I lost my friends, my family and what not. I cared for no one. No one did for me. And from last 6 years, I have no one who could see where I am up to. No one even bothers to consider me as my friend. I am so messed up.
I stayed quiet. We had a good time there as we have talked on certain topics, smoked some cigarettes together and left. The story ended there. Now, I will write something. I come from a very humble and struggling background. My father had no back when he started his journey called life.I was very young when we had nothing. All the hard earned money was always spent on me. I grew up.The struggle was still on. Neither have I cracked IIT, nor CAT.Neither have I appeared for UPSC, nor earned money even close to six figures.I am bulky too.I am not at all a handsome guy. In short I am everything, a person would not want.

But, you know, why am I so positive in life? Why I consider myself being a winner despite so many failures? Because, I have people around me, who respect me, can defend me, can fight for me, can lift me up. If you ever happen to meet me, I would stay under confident and humble because I feel like a loser but you know what, my friends say: Listen, one day, we have to be in a line to meet you. We believe in you. We do. We wish, by the time, we live long, you tend to chase and live your dreams because life is too short to have regrets.
Today, I have nothing. Literally, nothing but I have dignity which my friends and family have been living for me. Question: What actually gives satisfaction in life?Answer: No matter, what you do in life, and if your friends and family are not there to see it, it is not legendary. The satisfaction of living a good life is when people respect you no matter what.
Satisfaction can't be termed and it can't be achieved it can be just felt. And it is different for everyone. For a new born: drinking mother's milk and be with her and getting all the warmth from he is satisfaction. For a toddler: Playing in the evening and seeing mom when getting home is drinking a lot of water after playing is satisfaction.
For a teenager: Scoring good marks and making good friends and getting admission in desired college is satisfaction. For a young adult: Graduating from a good college with a good degree and securing good job is satisfaction. For a person in late 30s: Having a good job and a good family is satisfaction. And the list will go on.But true satisfaction is:-When you try hard for something and you achieve the feeling of joy and happiness is satisfaction. Satisfaction is a mindset not a situation. Cheers!
