Norse Atlantic Airways has become the first long-haul operator to join the SARPcheck registry, following a comprehensive four-day audit conducted by AEROTHRIVE in collaboration with WAKE (QA) Limited and Aviation Quality Services. The audit evaluated the carrier's compliance with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards from selected Annexes, granting the airline a Phase I certificate and boosting its credentials for wet lease, codeshare, and interline opportunities. SARPcheck, launched in April 2024, is a biennial audit program managed by SARP Ltd., assessing airlines against ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices to enhance global aviation safety and business potential. FlySafair FA424 Makes Emergency Landing at OR Tambo After Bird Strike

FlySafair flight FA424 from Lanseria to Durban made an emergency landing at OR Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg, South Africa, after a bird strike on departure.
