SAR Compatriot Grave Marking Service for Fletcher Ryals Dunaway

The SAR Compatriot Marking and Memorial Ceremony for Fletcher Ryals Dunaway, the Founder of the Florida Society Sons of the American Revolution, William Dunaway Chapter of Marianna, Florida in 2008.

In Greenwood Methodist Church Cemetery, on Saturday, 30 June 2018, after an hour ceremony, in the hot blistering Florida sun, the Compatriots of the Florida Northwest Region and Georgia Southwest Region stand and salute during taps.

Perhaps not looking professional, the aged, tired compatriots reveal their hearts and proudly honor a founder, mentor, leader, follower, family man, veteran and friend, Fletcher R. Dunaway.

Harry Wilson “Hap” Dunaway, a first cousin, Chaplain of William Dunaway Chapter

James Frederick “Jim” Dunaway, a nephew, former FLSSAR William Dunaway Chapter President, who recently under-gone a triple-by-pass.

Robert Kennedy “Kenny” Dunaway, a first cousin, Secretary of William Dunaway Chapter

Earl Frederick “Matt” Mathews, the 2018-2019, FLSSAR Northwest Regional Vice President and Master of Ceremony.

DeCody Brad Marble, Sons of the American Revolution National Society recognized descendant of 23 American Revolutionary Patriots of which one is a female. Compatriot Marble's Color Guard Uniform passed down to him from Fletcher R. Dunaway, a year ago.

Kenneth Neal Spooner of the Joel Early Chapter, GASSAR and dual member of the William Dunaway Chapter created the touching SAR Compatriot Marker for Fletcher R. Dunaway. The marker attached within a black plate attached to white marble.

Freedom and Patriotism not founded by fear, anger, hatred and violence.

Freedom and Patriotism founded by love of one’s God, Family and Country.

Love of humanity and love of the blue green planet of which humanity populates.

Love brings Patriots to display various calibers of service and sacrifice.

If your heart rules your mind, then let Love dominate your decisions and judgment of your fellow human being. In the end, LOVE conquers all and it is because of love each one of us exist today.

Love, Freedom and Patriotism will constantly endure through the waves of chaos in civilization, as “Old Glory”, “The Star-Spangled Banner” does through strong winds and wars.
