The Seven Reasons your SAP Tech Initiatives Are Failing

Are you struggling with SAP technology that doesn’t deliver the expected results?

This blog by John Patterson at Second Phase Solutions?explores seven key reasons SAP implementations fail, from poor integration strategies and lack of user adoption to inadequate system maintenance and evolving business needs. Understanding these common pitfalls can help organizations identify issues early, optimize their SAP systems, and drive better business outcomes.

I found it very thought-provoking and wanted to share it with you all. Read the blog post here.

Reusing XSLT mappings in SAP Integration Suite

Adam Kiwon , a SAP Integration Expert I follow, found an interesting alternative approach to sharing XSLTs with other services.

This approach to reusing XSLT mappings in SAP Cloud Integration makes things simpler. While Message Mappings and Groovy Scripts have long been reusable, XSLT mappings often required workarounds—until now. Previously, calling a central mapping via ProcessDirect added extra messages, making monitoring more complex. Now, with the latest Partner Directory enhancement, you can upload and reuse XSLTs directly from the UI, improving efficiency and visibility.

This new approach streamlines integration workflows and makes monitoring easier.

Boosting Reliability in SAP Integrations with HTTP Retry

It’s interesting that this improvement took so long to implement—likely due to dependencies in the Camel Upgrade.? In his latest article, Nacho Mu?oz álvarez explores how HTTP retry mechanisms can strengthen SAP integrations by reducing failed requests and handling transient network issues more effectively. While this is a great step forward, it’s also worth considering a pipeline approach, as the current setup may be limited by the 3 x 60-second retry window and an overall time constraint.
