SAP IBP to SAP IBP Integration

It could be that that I'm a bit late in hearing this news but this is definitely one of the new innovations from SAP CI-DS that you should not allow to pass. :)

Thanks to this feature, it is now possible to perform complex integration between Master Data and Time-Series Key Figures in SAP IBP. The most common and practical application is if you are doing some IBP project roll-outs. This could be very helpful, for example, if you will be integrating Production data to IBP Test landscape.

Some of the other common use cases are:

1. Master data to master data
2. Master data to time series
3. Calculation Scenario to time series (key figures)

Of course, the main prerequisite of this innovation is to ensure that your SAP CI-DS integration is already moved to WebSocketRFC. Further details can be found here with some demos from SAP.

In one of our IBP rollout projects, we used this feature exactly to load some sales forecast from Production to Test in order to support our testing in the Supply and Financial Planning. Main steps that we did to allow this are the ff:

• Create IBP DataStore that represents the IBP Production setting (using WebSocketRFC)
• Replicate the source tables (in this case, Calc Scenario) using the new IBP DataStore
• Create the Task or DataFlow and connect or map to the target time series key figure of the target DataStore.
• Apply some filtering logic and execute the task.
