SAP Enable Now – Resizing the slide display area

SAP Enable Now – Resizing the slide display area

?In my previous article I discussed how to edit the recorded slide sequence, I covered some best practice recommendations and provided warnings where things can go wrong. Your takeaway should be an understanding of the Enable Now slide structure, how to reorder slides, and how to select individual objects within the slides. You should also be prepared to remedy undesirable slide moves, edit the slide names and leverage best practice recommendations.

?There are two considerations to resizing, what is shown in the editor and what appears in the documentation created from the simulation. For this article, the focus will be on the resizing of the slide while in the edit mode. The resizing of the sides for documentation will be addressed in a follow up article.

Resizing within the editor

?When editing a simulation, you will find it easier to zoom in, zoom out, and pan around the screen than to work strictly in the full screen display mode. Enable Now uses a set of vertical and horizontal scrollbars for the main screen allowing access to all areas of the slide. The scrollbars are highlighted in red in the image below.

Vertical and Horizontal scrollbars

?

?To zoom in and out, there is an option on the toolbar that can be accessed via the View menu. By left clicking on the View menu, a dropdown list is displayed containing the Zoom option. If you hover over Zoom, a flyout menu appears as shown below.

Zoom menu options

?The most common options are the Zoom In, Zoom Out and the Zoom to Fit. Zoom to Fit scales the entire slide to be as large as possible within the main window. Zoom 100% shows the slide at its actual size which may show only a portion of the screen, or it might not take full advantage of the available display area. Show Selection displays a defined area of the screen. For the purposes of seeing the slide details while making edits, the Zoom In, Zoom Out, Zoom to Fit, and the panning options using the scrollbars should be sufficient. To be more efficient using the zoom functions take advantage of the shortcut keystrokes, such as Ctrl+Num + to zoom in on the slide details.

Summarizing the process

?When editing a simulation, you can use the zoom and pan features to improve the information selection and placement process. The scrollbars allow panning and the View -> Zoom option accessible from the toolbar allows several options for increasing or decreasing the displayed scale of the slide. Your takeaway should be an understanding of the controls available to navigate the slides while editing.

What’s next?

?In my next article I will talk about resizing the slide display area for documentation created from the simulation.
