SAP, Amazon Making Moves in Sustainability

Businesses and consumers understand that the products they purchase and the services they use are built upon global supply chains affected by climate change, among other factors. While many companies are working to reduce their carbon footprint, supply chain-reliant companies struggle to accurately calculate data from multiple sources.

The SAP Sustainability Data Exchange standardizes carbon emissions metrics and provides companies with reliable shared data from their suppliers, logistics providers, and manufacturing plants, following PACT scope 3 standards.?

At the same time, major data providers like Amazon are exploring sustainable and safe alternatives to fossil fuels to power the data centers that support our businesses. Amazon recently invested in small modular reactors (SMRs) to provide power to local areas, offering AWS a new source to purchase energy for its data centers. This initiative upholds Amazon’s commitment to becoming carbon-negative by 2040.

• SAP Announces Q3 2024 Results: The software giant reported 9% overall revenue growth, sustained by impressive gains in Cloud and ERP sectors. SAP also raised its 2024 projections to account for the Q3 growth.?
