Santa’s landed on the roof
and filled his sack with toys.
The chimney is his entry point
as known, by girls and boys.
But when he gets there,there’s a snag,
It will not fit him and the bag;
Another point of entry,
is needed for presents under the tree.
He’s looking at the windows;
is that one there on the catch?
Or what about the back door;
is it sitting on the latch?
He’s looked under the doormat,
and the plant pot by the door,
A spare key may be sitting
in a fake rock on the floor.
Or maybe through the letterbox,
a key hangs on a string,
Perhaps if he can catch it,
he can let himself come in.
There’s a dog flap to the garage,
Santa isn’t very keen,
What if the mutt’s not friendly;
Or worse is really mean?
He’s spotted cameras on the driveway,
Are they DPA compliant?
He’s running out of options,
to be legally compliant!
The home owners have locked up tight
So what can Santa do?
The elf on the shelf will have to help,
open doors to let him through.
