Sanjeev Roy on his Allsec Journey

Some numbers are magical, and for me, nothing is sweeter than reaching my milestone of 5 years as an Allsec employee.?

The learning experience at Allsec is unmatched! I learn from every single conversation that happens here. I have had my moments of joy and moments of embarrassments – it is not about pondering over them, but the enjoyment of reliving and having a good laugh is what make my time here worthwhile.?

Working under the guidance of Madhu and other mentors has been a great opportunity. They inspire and I aspire. I joined Coachieve on 16th November 2016 as Manager - Business Development and today, I manage the entire west region with the support of my team.

I remember my first year like it was yesterday. We started building the compliance services business in the West from scratch. The best part was that within the first 6 months of my tenure I onboarded one of the biggest retail mandates, and we continue to serve them till date. Getting the best sales performer award in 2018 for the same mandate was a big boost.

As I stepped into my second year, I was filled with confidence and didn’t once feel intimidated because we were new players in the HRO industry. We started the year with a bang as we on-boarded one of the biggest giants in the BFSI industry – a contract worth one crore per annum. With that and a few other brands in the bag, I managed to score my second Best Sales Performer Award in 2019.

In my third year, I was promoted to Regional Manager West and given a team to handle. It was a great development in my professional career and a very memorable moment. As I took on more responsibilities, my team was given bigger targets to achieve for the entire region. It was not easy but we still managed to onboard a sizable number of new clients including global brands from the renewable and the BFSI industries. Another milestone around this time was the merging of the compliance business with payroll within Allsec.?

The fourth year was especially tough because of the COVID-19 outbreak. There were delays due to restrictions, curfew and the work-from-home setting. However, we were back on track in the second quarter after a slow start. Our success in the Logistics and Media industries helped bolster our growth during this period.

My fifth year was like a mixed bag of fortune because the market was still unsure about the business during the pandemic. We had another slow start but our perseverance paid off with successes from the MNC’S, Retail and Lifestyle brands.

I am set to start my sixth year with a strong pipeline and one of the biggest BFSI mandate wins from Pune. I am thankful everyday for the support of my seniors, sales colleagues and the Operations/ Migration/Audit teams. In fact, one of the reasons I always look forward to off-site work is the myriad opportunities to interact with leaders and colleagues from various regions and verticals.??

While the people at Allsec have been instrumental in my journey, I would be remiss if I didn’t? mention the versatile and incredibly helpful internal training programs such as 1st Time Manager, Evolve, etc. These have worked wonders for me in terms of boosting my confidence, getting me up to speed on managing a team, and understanding how to delegate tasks successfully. Working with Allsec has not only fulfilled my professional goals but also showed me what it means to have work-life balance. Initiatives such as ‘Your Dost’ have allowed me to share my thoughts freely and receive motivation from counselors to promote a positive outlook towards life. I truly feel my career is praiseworthy.
