Google elevates Sanjay Gupta to President-APAC
Sanjay Gupta, Country Manager - India for Google, has been elevated as the President for Asia Pacific. An internal mail circulated to Google employees also mentioned that Roma Datta Chobey will be the interim head for the Large Customer Sales (LCS) team. She is presently the Managing Director for Google India. “Following Scott’s announcement in May that he would retire and leave Google at the end of this year, we began an extensive and thorough search for our new APAC President – which was led by Scott. I’m thrilled to share the news that Sanjay Gupta our Country Manager for India is now the President of Asia Pacific,” Philip Schindler, SVP & Chief Business Officer at Google, has said in the internal mail.

Google scraps third-party cookie deprecation?
In a blog post on Monday,?Anthony Chavez, VP, Privacy Sandbox,?said, “We are proposing an updated approach that elevates user choice. Instead of deprecating third-party cookies, we would introduce a new experience in Chrome that lets people make an informed choice that applies across their web browsing, and they’d be able to adjust that choice at any time.”

I&B Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that the discussions on the roles and responsibilities under the Data Protection and Digital Privacy (DPDP) bill are already in advanced stages, and the draft will very soon be placed for public consultation and stakeholder consultation. Social media video, podcast creators may now become ‘digital news broadcasters’
The new draft of the broadcasting bill may classify those who regularly post social media videos, podcasts or write-ups on current affairs as digital news broadcasters, says a media report. As per the new broadcasting bill, news and current affair programmes will also include texts. At present, this section only covered audio and visual content.
