Sangiovese di Romagna DOC??

Every wine lover has heard of the Sangiovese grape. The range of Chianti wines, Brunello di Montalcino, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano to name a few are outstanding. But wines from Emilia Romagna?
Just yesterday I was reading a guidebook on the Emilia Romagna region. They discuss the range of Lambrusco wines in the western region but in the last section of this book discuss the Sangiovese di Romagna DOC wines.
I read wine books extensively. I have read almost a dozen books focused on Italian wines, but I do not recall any author specifically mention these wines. I KNOW that I have never seen a bottle of this DOC wine. I used to attend many professional tasting events in NYC. Although I might guess that Sangiovese di Romagna DOC wines were at the Vino series of tasting events among the thousands of other Italian wines, I do not recall them.
Yet the tasting notes for these wines sound very intriguing. How many other lesser-known DOCs and DOCGs regions are waiting to be discovered?
Without at least knowledge of their existence no wine lovers will know to look for them.
I hope that posting about them in the Discovering Italian Wines group (https://www.dhirubhai.net/groups/8154957/ ) will open the eyes of many wine drinkers. If you are curious, I invite you to come join!
